Give Your Nails The Zen Treatment

If your anything like me your hands and nails tend to get neglected.  A lot.  I spend an awful lot of time either in the garden or allotment caked in dirt, stung by nettles and pricked by brambles, and my hands get the worst of it.  This oil blend is a wonderful way to give your nails a bit if tlc (totally lovely cuticles).  Its simple to make and really effective and only contains 4 ingredients.

Avocado oil is an amazing oil, not just from a dietary point of view but it is also exceptionally good for your skin.  It is a highly emollient carrier oil and will penetrate deep into the skin.  It is very rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, and Beta Carotene.  It is also high in sterolin, which has been shown to soften the skin and to reduce the incidence of age spots.  Avocado oil also contains lecithin and potassium, which are all highly beneficial for the skin.  I cannot rate this oil highly enough when it comes to skin care.

Lavender Essential Oil is wonderfully healing and soothing for skin.  It helps prevent wrinkles and scaring, helps treat eczema and psoriasis, soothes burns, stops itchiness, and also has antibacterial properties which can help to treat skin fungus or infections.

Tea Tree Essential Oil is great for skin.  It contains powerful antioxidants which help skin heal and help the skin look young and smooth.

Frankincense Essential Oil strengthens skin, improves the appearance of scars, helps heal wounds, improves skin tone and elasticity (it’s not called the king of oils for nothing!).  It has been used in skin care for centuries.

You will need:

  • 2 tsp Avocado oil
  • 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

Put the oils into a small jar or roller bottler and give it a little shake.  Then massage a drop into your cuticles for wonderfully healthy cuticles and nails.
