Theives Oil – The Oil Of Legend

Theives oil is a potent blend of clove, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils that have a multitude of everyday uses. There are a few different recipes around but the one I use is below.
The story goes that in the middle ages, during the black plague epidemic, a group of theives went around looting the homes and bodies of those who had died from the plague to sell the boots, clothes, jewelry, anything they could find. They protected themselves from the plague by using a blend of oils which prevented them from getting ill. Eventually they were caught and the King demanded to know how they had avoided the plague. In the end they gave him the recipe for their oil and Theives Oil was born.
Whether any of this story is true or not is unknown, however what is known is that this blend of oils is very powerful
The oil can be added to a veggie capsule to help boost your immune system, or it can be rubbed onto the feet or used in a diffuser.
You can add a few drops of the oil to water in a spray bottle for an excellent household cleaner.
It is also a wonderful aroma to use in the diffuser.
Here is the recipe I use.  I always make sure I have some blended in the house ready to go whenever needed. Here is the recipe I use:
40 drops of Clove Essential Oil
35 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
20 drops of Cinnamon Essential Oil
15 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
Have a go at this easy and powerful blend. You can find all of these essential oils over on our essential oils site at http://www.mydoterra.com/barefootandzen
